Rendang Daging Tradisional Recipe

Here are the ingredients you will need to make rendang daging tradisional:- 1 kg beef cut into cubes
- 4 cups thick coconut milk
- 2 cups thin coconut milk
- 2 stalks lemongrass, bruised
- 5 kaffir lime leaves
- 1 turmeric leaf, thinly sliced
- 2 turmeric leaves, bruised
- 1 ginger flower, sliced
- 2 tbsp tamarind juice
- 2 tbsp oil
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 20 dried red chilies, soaked in hot water and drained
- 10 shallots, peeled
- 6 cloves garlic, peeled
- 2 inches galangal, peeled and sliced
- 2 inches ginger, peeled and sliced
- 2 tbsp coriander seeds
- 1 tbsp cumin seeds
- 1 tbsp fennel seeds
- 1 tbsp turmeric powder
Instructions
1. To make the spice paste, blend all the ingredients in a food processor until smooth. 2. Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the spice paste and stir-fry until fragrant. 3. Add the beef and stir-fry until it changes color. 4. Add the thick coconut milk, lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, turmeric leaves, ginger flower, tamarind juice, salt, and sugar. Stir well and bring to a boil. 5. Turn down the heat to low and simmer for 3-4 hours, stirring occasionally, or until the beef is tender and the sauce has thickened. 6. Add the thin coconut milk and simmer for another 30 minutes. 7. Serve hot with steamed rice.Nutrition
