- 3 tbsp of palm sugar
- Salt to taste
- Oil for cooking
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the SpicesFirstly, blend the following ingredients into a fine paste:
- 10 shallots
- 5 cloves of garlic
- 3 red chilies
- 10 dried chilies (soaked in hot water for 10 minutes)
- 1 inch of ginger
- 1 inch of galangal
- 1 tsp of cumin seeds
- 1 tsp of fennel seeds
- 1 tsp of coriander seeds
Next, heat some oil in a pot and sauté the blended spice paste until fragrant. Add in the beef and cook until it changes color. Pour in the coconut milk, water, lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, and turmeric leaf (if using). Bring to a boil and then lower the heat to a simmer. Step 3: Add the Flavorings
