Sup Daging Siam Recipe
Introduction

- 500g beef, sliced thinly

- 2 tablespoons fish sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1.5L water
- 3 potatoes, peeled and diced
- 1 carrot, peeled and diced
- 1 tomato, diced
- 1 handful of coriander leaves, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the onion, garlic, and ginger and sauté until fragrant, about 2 minutes.
- Add the sliced beef and stir-fry until browned, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the fish sauce, soy sauce, and sugar.
- Add the water, lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, and sliced chilies. Bring to a boil and reduce the heat to low. Simmer for 30 minutes.
- Add the diced potatoes and carrots and simmer for another 20 minutes or until the vegetables are tender.
- Stir in the diced tomato and coriander leaves. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot with steamed rice or bread.
