Rendang Daging Sedap Recipe

To make rendang daging sedap, you will need the following ingredients:- 1 kg beef, cut into cubes
- 4 cups coconut milk
- 2 cups water
- 2 lemongrass stalks, bruised
- 4 kaffir lime leaves
- 4 turmeric leaves
- 1 cup kerisik (toasted coconut)
- 2 tbsp tamarind paste
- 2 tbsp sugar
- Salt to taste
- 10 dried red chillies
- 10 shallots
- 5 garlic cloves
- 2 inches ginger
- 2 inches galangal
- 1 tbsp coriander seeds
- 1 tbsp cumin seeds
- 1 tbsp fennel seeds
Instructions
1. In a blender, blend all the spice paste ingredients until smooth. 2. In a large pot, heat some oil over medium-high heat. Add the spice paste and sauté for a few minutes until fragrant. 3. Add the beef cubes and stir until they are coated with the spice paste. 4. Add the coconut milk, water, lemongrass stalks, kaffir lime leaves, turmeric leaves, and tamarind paste. Stir well. 5. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 3-4 hours until the beef is tender and the sauce has thickened. 6. Stir in the kerisik, sugar, and salt to taste. Cook for another 10-15 minutes until the sauce has thickened and the beef is coated with the sauce. 7. Serve hot with rice or bread.Nutrition
