- 1 lemongrass (finely sliced)
- 3 kaffir lime leaves (finely sliced)
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 cup coconut milk
Instructions
Here are the steps to make serunding daging:- Heat up a pan on medium heat and add in the minced or finely chopped beef or chicken.
- Stir the meat around until it is slightly browned.
- Add in the shallots, garlic, lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, and salt.
- Mix everything together until the spices are evenly distributed.
- Add in the sugar and mix well.
- Pour in the coconut milk and stir everything together.
- Lower the heat and let the mixture simmer for about 30-40 minutes until the liquid has evaporated and the meat is dry.
- Stir the mixture occasionally to prevent it from burning.
- Once the mixture is dry, remove it from the heat and let it cool down.
- Using a food processor or a mortar and pestle, grind the mixture into fine pieces.
- Store the serunding daging in an airtight container and keep it in the fridge.
